United South and Eastern Tribes, Inc. has created an animation titled, “What is a virus?” Presented in simple terminology for the everyday non-health expert, the animation defines a virus, how it spreads, how to slow the spread, and steps an individual can take to help prevent getting sick themselves. Recognizing that we are still in the COVID-19 pandemic and entering the flu season, the animation focuses specifically on these two viruses. USET recognizes that much of the information contained in the animation has already been promoted throughout the pandemic, but it bears repeating; especially now that we will be dealing with two viruses.
Some aspects of this educational piece speak in generalities to be understood during normal circumstances. USET presents this educational piece with the full understanding and sensitivity to the fact that we are still experiencing a pandemic that has seen the unfortunate loss of many, many lives due to COVID-19 in Indian Country, here in the United States, and throughout the world.
