NIHB submits recommendations to US Department of Health and Human Services

Last week, the National Indian Health Board (NIHB) hosted several Tribal leader listening sessions to gather Tribal recommendations on the distribution of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).  NIHB hosted sessions with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  Incorporating Tribal leader feedback from across Indian Country, NIHB submitted these recommendations to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Assistant Secretary Elinore McCance-Katz, SAMHSA, CDC Director Robert Redfield, and HRSA Administrator Thomas Engels in a letter April 3.
